The best times to call the UK, US, Canada and Australia from Pakistan
A calling floor in Pakistan works someone else's day. The hours that matter for every country ReachCalls covers, converted to Pakistan time, including the clock changes that catch teams out twice a year.
Pakistan Standard Time is five hours ahead of UTC and never changes. The UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, France, most of Australia and New Zealand all change their clocks, on different dates, and Australia and New Zealand do it in the opposite season. So a floor in Lahore calling London or New York sees its working day move by an hour twice a year.
The windows below are normal working hours in each place, about 9am to 8pm local time on weekdays, converted to Pakistan time. Where a country sets legal hours for telemarketing calls, they are noted. Always plan around the time where the person you are calling is.
United Kingdom and Ireland
Summer (late March to late October): 9am to 8pm UK time is 1pm to midnight in Pakistan.
Winter (late October to late March): 9am to 8pm UK time is 2pm to 1am in Pakistan.
Ireland keeps the same clock as the UK all year, so the same windows apply.
The UK has no single legal calling window, but late evenings and Sundays are a fast way to collect complaints.

United States and Canada
North America spans several time zones, and the rules follow the called person's local time. US telemarketing calls are only allowed between 8am and 9pm there. Canada's telemarketing rules allow calls from 9am to 9:30pm on weekdays and 10am to 6pm at weekends.
Eastern time (New York, Toronto), summer: 9am to 8pm is 6pm to 5am in Pakistan.
Eastern time, winter: 9am to 8pm is 7pm to 6am in Pakistan.
Pacific time (Los Angeles, Vancouver), summer: 9am to 8pm is 9pm to 8am in Pakistan.
Pacific time, winter: 9am to 8pm is 10pm to 9am in Pakistan.
The US and Canada change their clocks on the second Sunday in March and the first Sunday in November, a few weeks apart from the UK. During those weeks, a team calling both the UK and the US will find the gap between them is an hour shorter than usual.
Australia
Australia's telemarketing rules allow calls from 9am to 8pm on weekdays and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays, with no calls on Sundays or national public holidays, in the called person's local time. Most Australians live on the east coast.
Sydney and Melbourne, April to October: 9am to 8pm is 4am to 3pm in Pakistan.
Sydney and Melbourne, October to April (daylight saving): 9am to 8pm is 3am to 2pm in Pakistan.
Brisbane has no daylight saving: 9am to 8pm is 4am to 3pm in Pakistan all year.
Perth: 9am to 8pm is 6am to 5pm in Pakistan all year.
New Zealand and Singapore
New Zealand, April to September: 9am to 8pm in Auckland is 2am to 1pm in Pakistan.
New Zealand, late September to early April (daylight saving): 9am to 8pm is 1am to noon in Pakistan.
Singapore does not change its clocks: 9am to 8pm is 6am to 5pm in Pakistan all year.
France
Summer (late March to late October): 9am to 8pm in Paris is noon to 11pm in Pakistan.
Winter: 9am to 8pm in Paris is 1pm to midnight in Pakistan.
France tightly restricts cold calls to consumers, including fixed weekday hours. Check the current rules before calling French homes.
Building shifts around it
A UK and Ireland shift runs from early afternoon to around midnight, moving an hour on the clock-change weekends.
A North America shift runs overnight, starting in the early evening for the east coast.
An Australia, New Zealand and Singapore shift runs from the early hours to early afternoon.
Put every clock-change date in the team calendar so nobody calls an hour early or late the week it happens.
